We return for another 5th Sunday aka Testimony Sunday at Greater Redeemer Baptist Church in Drama, La. A lot of things have changed since we last gathered. Some for the better, and others…well, you know how things are in this church. Deacon Brian and Rose are still clowning everybody in the church. Sis Ida gets an unwelcomed surprise when her sister Irma Jean arrives back home to Drama, La from Chicago, after being away for over 40 years. Pudding, who has never met Irma Jean, tries to figure out why her Great Aunt and Grandma have such a broken relationship. Speaking of being broken, Alana Cross, a former drug addict, and Tiffany Arceneaux, a former drug dealer, give testimonies that put the Redeemer portion of Greater Redeemer’s name to the test. And with all this going on, it’s up to Pastor Jenkins once again to keep his church decent and in order. As everyone shares their testimonies, a lot of hidden sins, hidden secrets, and hidden agendas are exposed. Still powered by a score of some of the most powerful gospel songs, “Testimony” continues to examine our faith, fellowship, and forgiveness.
